With the support of Shri R. V. Deshpande, MLA of Haliyal and Head of the R.V. Deshpande Memorial Trust, the Mahamaya Foundation and Manipal Foundation have jointly launched virtual classes in government schools across Haliyal, Dandeli, and Joida taluks from the academic year 2024–2025.
This initiative aims to provide quality education to students in rural areas, benefiting over 2,000 students. Teachers and headmasters appreciated the program, noting that it has improved student interest, engagement, and confidence.
Dr. Usha Pai, Secretary of Mahamaya Foundation, thanked Shri R. V. Deshpande and Manipal Foundation for their support in successfully implementing this impactful educational program, which is seen as a significant step in improving education and skill development in the region.

The event began with an invocation by students of Volakadu, followed by a warm welcome speech from Mrs. Nirmala Rao, HM of Govt. Composite High School, Volakadu. The core of the program featured the felicitation and prize distribution, celebrating the hard work and success of the student achievers.

The Inauguration of Kannada Medium Virtual Class room of Manipal Foundation and Mahamaya Foundation and Felicitation program of star performers of Virtual Class room program and scholar program was held at Government PU College, Bramhavara on 27.07.2019.Inaugaration was done by Mr Rajen Padukone, C E O Manipal Foundation. Mr O.R. Prakash Block Education Officer, Bramhavara was the chief Guest for the program and the program was presided over by Mr B.T Nayak, Headmaster and Mrs Usha Pai, Secretary Mahamaya Foundation, Principal GPUC,Brahmavara and members of PTI and SDMC.
The online classes conducted by experienced teachers for grade 9 and 10 in Studio School will be broadcasted to 10 other beneficiary Government High Schools through internet. Curriculum Based English, Mathematics and Science subjects are taught to students of Grade 9 and 10. Students who performed well in of grade 10 and Grade 12 last academic year were felicitated. 8 star performers received Gold Medals and 112 students were awarded with cash Prizes. Mr. Roshan student of Grade 12 was Master of Ceremony. Mr. Rajen Padukone gave valuable inputs to the prize winners. Mr O R Prakash BEO assured full cooperation from the education deparment.
